Abstract
This is a comprehensive report encompassing three distinct analyses conducted within the energy sector, focusing on various facets of power production and resource procurement in Texas.
The first task delves into a meticulous examination of every power plant in the state, sorting them by size, age, and fuel type.
Task two scrutinizes the energy production throughout January 2023, offering insights into patterns, trends, and contributing factors.
Lastly, task three involves an in-depth analysis of the 60-day report on bid prices for different resource types, providing valuable data on market dynamics and pricing strategies.
Collectively, these analyses offer a holistic understanding of Texas’s energy landscape, crucial for informed decision-making and strategic planning within the industry.
It can be observed that majority of the plants are less that 40 years old.
Analysis Based on Age
The plot shows the age of all the power plants. The mean of the age is around 6 years.
Analysis Based on Fuel Type
The plot shows all the types of fuel used to generate energy by the power plants. It can be observed that majority of the plants generate energy using solar.
